'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane cools on Premier League comeback

Kane achieves his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has stated that his interest in coming back to the Premier League has lessened and he is open to discuss a new contract with Bayern Munich.

The accomplished striker is at the moment midway through the four-year deal he agreed to when joining from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the transfer window of 2023.

The veteran forward has netted an outstanding 103 goals in 106 matches for the German club, playing a key role in them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which represented the initial major trophy of his illustrious career.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has previously expressed that he would welcome to see Kane come back to England, where he requires 48 goals to overtake Alan Shearer's historic Premier League scoring feat of 260.

However, the England leader has now suggested that he is no longer as eager about coming back home as he once was, and would seriously think about lengthening his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of staying longer, I could certainly see that," he commented.

"I mentioned openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those discussions with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be open to talk and have an honest conversation.

"Obviously it depends on how the next year or so unfolds and what we accomplish together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would likely say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have discovered in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things work out. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the all-time top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and recently became the speediest player this century to hit 100 goals for a club playing in one of Europe's top five leagues, attaining the achievement in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a trophy had escaped him until he lifted the German title last season.

Kane reveals that he was not sure how he would feel after breaking his trophy barren spell, but now thinks it has made him hungry for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he explained.

"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I pushed myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Future Prospects

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich is Kane's primary focus
  • The chance of a Premier League return has considerably decreased
  • New contract discussions could start in the near future
  • Kane's remarkable goal-scoring form continues to amaze
